A History of African Civilizations focuses on human origins and African civilizations at the
apex of Africa’s contributions to humanity based on Professor Ampim’s primary research.
Professor Ampim is a professor of History and African Studies at Contra Costa College, an
author, and is Director of Oakland-based Advancing the Research. He is a leading scholar who
has conducted pioneering field research on African civilizations in 22 countries, including
archeological sites of ancient Nubia and Kush.
